These red metal grills with tripod stands were manufactured in Hong Kong by Quantum North America Inc. and e4L Inc. The recall specifically includes grills sold at Wal-Mart stores.

The hazard exists because the grill's design allows consumers to light the unit at the air intake tube rather than the burner. This causes gas inside the tube to ignite, reaching temperatures up to 750 degrees Fahrenheit. In some cases, the heat damaged the plastic support piece, causing the grill to collapse. When the grill falls, flames can burn nearby consumers and ignite surrounding combustibles. There have been 44 reports of consumers suffering burns to legs, hands, and fingers, including third-degree burns, after the grills collapsed. However, there have been no reports of incidents or injuries involving the specific grills sold by Wal-Mart.

Consumers who purchased these grills from Wal-Mart should stop using them immediately and return them to the store for a refund. Those who purchased the grills from other retailers should contact the retailer for a refund, repair, or replacement. If the retailer cannot provide a remedy, consumers should contact CPSC.
