These products were sold nationwide through gourmet stores and specialty catalogs from October 2000 through October 2001 for between $60 and $70. Tea kettles purchased at Bloomingdale's stores or on QVC are not involved in this recall.

The recall is being conducted because the tea kettles can break or burst during use. This defect can cause hot water to spill, posing a risk of burn injuries to consumers. Ceraflame Inc. has received six reports of tea kettles breaking, though no injuries have been reported.
