2025 Honda CBR650R Motorcycles Recalled for Turn Signal Wire Harness Defect
Honda is recalling 2024-2025 CBR650R motorcycles due to engine vibration causing turn signal wire harness damage, which can result in blown fuses and loss of critical safety systems including turn signals and brake lights.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: This recall involves loss of critical vehicle safety systems (turn signals, brake lights, horn). Although no injuries or deaths have been reported, the hazard creates a direct and significant risk of crash or injury and affects safety functions required by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108. This qualifies as a risk-of-harm product where injury has not yet been reported.
Plain-English summary
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Honda CBR650R motorcycles. Engine vibration may damage the turn signal switch wire harness, causing an electrical short circuit and blown fuse. These vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
When a fuse blows, owners will lose turn signal, brake light, speedometer, and horn function. The loss of turn signals and brake lights significantly increases the risk of a crash or injury, as other drivers cannot see the motorcycle's signals or braking.
The remedy is free. Dealers will inspect and repair the turn signal switch wire harness as necessary at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 9, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-866-784-1870 for more information. Honda's internal recall number is KT7. Approximately 2,155 vehicles are affected, and VINs involved in this recall are searchable on NHTSA.gov (recall number 25V911000).
