2025 Volvo VNL Trucks Load Lock Clamp Loosening Recall

Volvo Trucks is recalling certain 2024–2026 VNL (4) trucks because load lock clamps on the cab back may loosen, allowing cargo to shift or fall and create a crash hazard.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The source text describes a mechanical defect that creates risk of cargo loss and increased crash risk. No injuries or deaths are reported, and no agency classification is provided; however, the potential for serious harm (vehicle crash) from an unsecured load qualifies this as High per the rubric criterion for risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported.

Plain-English summary

Volvo Trucks North America is recalling certain 2024, 2025, and 2026 VNL (4) vehicles. The load lock clamps, located on the back of the cab, may loosen and cause the load lock bars to become unsecured.

A loose or unsecured load lock bar can result in a loss of cargo, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the load lock clamps free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on December 18, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586.
