Audi Q5 and A7 Hybrid Battery Overheat Fire Risk Recall
Volkswagen is recalling certain 2021–2024 Audi Q5 and 2022 Audi A7 E Hybrid vehicles. The high-voltage battery may overheat, increasing the risk of fire.

Volkswagen is recalling certain 2021–2024 Audi Q5 and 2022 Audi A7 E Hybrid vehicles due to a high-voltage battery defect. The high-voltage battery may overheat, increasing the risk of fire.
Approximately 20,201 vehicles are affected by this recall. Owners have been notified by interim notification letters mailed February 28, 2025, and May 7, 2025, as well as owner notification letters mailed May 1, 2025.
Dealers will install advanced diagnostic software as an interim remedy, expected to be available in the second quarter of 2025. Volkswagen will monitor available online vehicle data and contact owners as necessary. Owners are advised not to charge their vehicles until the final battery replacement remedy becomes available. All repairs will be performed free of charge.
