Plain-English summary
Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2024 and 2025 Ford F-150, 2024 Ford Expedition, and 2024 Lincoln Navigator vehicles equipped with 3.5-liter GTDI engines. The engines in these vehicles may have misaligned cup plugs that can cause rapid oil leakage.
A rapid oil leak can cause the engine to stall unexpectedly, which increases the risk of a crash. Additionally, when oil leaks and contacts hot engine components or exhaust systems, it can ignite and create a fire hazard. The recall affects approximately 2,490 vehicles.
Owners should contact a Ford dealer to have the cup plug alignment inspected and, if necessary, replaced at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 23, 2024.
