Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2024-2025 Ford Escape vehicles due to a manufacturing defect in the passenger side instrument panel cover. The cover may be manufactured incorrectly, which can cause the airbag not to deploy as intended during a crash. These vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

If an airbag is deployed, the defective cover may break and project fragments into the vehicle, or the airbag may not deploy properly, increasing the risk of occupant injury. Approximately 15 vehicles are affected. Ford will replace the passenger side instrument panel cover free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 18, 2025.
