The recall addresses a defect where the front acceleration sensor's wiring harness may be routed incorrectly. This routing error can prevent the front air bags from deploying properly in a crash, causing the vehicles to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

An air bag that does not deploy properly can increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. Owner notification letters were mailed on November 1, 2024.
