BMW Recalls 2024-2025 Models Due to Steering Spindle Breakage Risk
BMW is recalling specific 2024-2025 models because the steering spindle may break, increasing steering effort and crash risk. Dealers will replace the joint free of charge.

The defect involves the steering spindle, which may break. If this occurs, it requires a greater steering effort to control the vehicle. A sudden increase in required steering effort increases the risk of a crash.
Dealers will replace the steering spindle's double universal joint, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 22, 2024. Owners may contact BMW Customer Service at 1-800-525-7417 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
