2024 BMW X3 and Related Models: Loose Steering Gear Recall
BMW is recalling certain 2024 BMW X3 and related models due to steering gear that may not have been properly tightened, which can loosen and cause loss of vehicle control. Dealers will replace the steering gear free of charge.

The steering gear on these vehicles may not have been tightened properly during manufacturing, which can allow it to loosen over time. A loose steering gear can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Owners of affected vehicles should contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 to schedule a repair appointment. Dealers will replace the steering gear free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on January 11, 2024.
