General Motors is recalling certain 2024 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon vehicles because the lock ring securing the fuel pump may not have been fully locked, allowing a fuel leak during a crash.
What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 4 covers structural vehicle defects: an unsecured fuel tank lock ring compromises fuel system containment during a crash, creating a post-crash fire risk at the moment occupants are most exposed.
