Rivian R1S and R1T tire placards show incorrect maximum capacity weight

What this means for you

Minor labeling or packaging issue, or a voluntary precautionary recall. Risk of harm is low but real — follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Our severity reasoning: The defect is an incorrect placard value corrected by mailing a replacement label, with no physical defect and no injuries reported.

Plain-English summary

Rivian Automotive, LLC is recalling certain 2022-2023 R1S and R1T vehicles under NHTSA campaign number 24V458000. The potential number of units affected is 666.

The maximum vehicle capacity weight value on the tire placard label is incorrect.
