Rivian second-row seat belt retractor bolts may be improperly tightened

Rivian is recalling certain 2022-2025 R1T and 2022-2026 R1S vehicles because the bolts securing the second-row seat belt retractor assemblies may be improperly tightened.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 4 covers structural vehicle defects: the retractor mounting is the anchorage that lets a seat belt restrain an occupant, and the source states it may not do so.
