2022–2023 Jeep Wagoneer: Side Curtain Airbag Trim Defect

Chrysler is recalling 2022–2023 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer vehicles because the upper B-pillar interior trim may not be fully seated, which could interfere with side curtain airbag deployment in a crash.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: Structural defect in critical safety system (side curtain airbag) with verified risk of compromised occupant protection in crashes. No injuries have been reported.

Plain-English summary

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022 and 2023 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer vehicles. The upper B-pillar interior trim may not be fully seated, which could interfere with the proper deployment of the vehicle's side curtain airbag system during a crash.

The unseated trim violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 226 on ejection mitigation. If the side curtain airbag does not deploy properly, occupant protection in a crash may be compromised, increasing the risk of injury.
