Proterra Catalyst and ZX5 buses recalled for wiper motor failure
Proterra is recalling certain 2020–2022 Catalyst and ZX5 buses due to windshield wiper motor failure. Inoperative wipers reduce visibility and increase crash risk.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: No illnesses or injuries have been reported. The hazard is theoretical—inoperative windshield wipers can reduce visibility and may increase crash risk, but no actual crashes or damage have been documented. This qualifies as a risk-of-harm vehicle defect without reported injury.
