Blackbeards Motorcycle Gear, Inc. is recalling certain HamrHead HM-569 motorcycle helmets in all sizes from XXS through XXL. The affected helmets were manufactured in December 2020. A total of 522 units are involved in this recall.

The helmets may not adequately protect the wearer in the event of a head impact during a crash. Consequently, these helmets fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 218, "Motorcycle Helmets." A helmet that does not provide adequate impact protection increases the risk of injury during a crash.

Owner notification letters were mailed on November 1, 2022. Blackbeards will provide a full refund of the purchase price for the affected helmets.
