Plain-English summary
General Motors is recalling 7,199 2021 GMC Canyon vehicles. The tire and loading information placard printed on these vehicles lists the load carrying capacity as 22.5 kilograms (51 pounds) higher than the intended capacity, violating Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110.
An incorrect load capacity label may lead owners to unintentionally overload their vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.
General Motors will mail owners a replacement B-pillar label with the correct load capacity at no cost. Owners can apply the label themselves or bring their vehicle to a GMC dealer for installation.
