2021 Ducati Scrambler Turn Signals May Not Flash Brightly Enough

Ducati is recalling certain 2021 Scrambler 800 Night Shift motorcycles because the front and rear turn signal lights may not flash brightly enough, reducing visibility to other drivers and increasing crash risk.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: This vehicle defect creates a risk of crashes by reducing the visibility of turn signals to other drivers, but no injuries have been reported yet. The recall addresses non-compliance with FMVSS 108 lighting requirements.

Plain-English summary

Ducati North America is recalling certain 2021 Scrambler 800 Night Shift motorcycles. The front and rear turn signal lights may not flash brightly enough to be visible to other drivers.

This defect fails to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 108 requirements for lamps and reflective devices. When turn signals are not bright enough, other drivers may not see that you have activated your turn signal, increasing the risk of a crash.

If you own an affected motorcycle, contact Ducati customer service at 1-888-391-5446. Dealers will replace the front and rear turn signals at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 28, 2021.
