Ducati Scrambler motorcycles recalled due to electrical short-circuit fire risk

Plain-English summary

Ducati North America is recalling certain 2018-2021 Ducati Scrambler 1100 motorcycles. In these motorcycles, the exhaust valve cable may contact the main positive battery wire.

When the exhaust valve cable makes contact with the positive battery wire, an electrical short-circuit can occur. This short-circuit increases the risk of fire.

This recall affects 1,072 Ducati Scrambler motorcycles from model years 2018 through 2021.

Owners should contact Ducati customer service at 1-888-391-5446 to schedule service. Dealers will install a new cable guide and self-locking cable tie to the exhaust valve cable at no charge. The recall remedy began January 22, 2021.
