The Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) in these vehicles may have been incorrectly calibrated, which can cause the sensor to fail to detect a fault or incorrectly detect one.

When a failure mode is detected, the inverters may apply unequal torque to the wheels, causing oversteer. This condition increases the risk of a crash.

Owners should contact Arcimoto customer service at 1-541-683-6293 to schedule a free repair. A service technician will update the firmware and replace the idler arm. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 27, 2021. Approximately 261 units are potentially affected by this recall.
