The defect is an incorrect Electronic Stability Program (ESP) software version that may cause the ESP system to react inaccurately. If the ESP does not react properly to a driving situation, it may increase the risk of a crash.
MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will update the ESP software free of charge. The recall began on August 28, 2020, and letters for the owners of the 360 additional vehicles were mailed on January 15, 2021.
