Mertz Manufacturing, LLC is recalling certain 2008-2018 Mertz Custom Trailers. The recall involves 475 vehicles where plastic junction connections may have been installed in the air brake circuits. This configuration fails to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

If a plastic connector fails, the vehicle may experience a loss of service brakes or the emergency brakes may activate unexpectedly. Either condition may increase the risk of a crash.
