Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2018 Freightliner Cascadia trucks equipped with Detroit automatic transmissions. The recall addresses a defect where a shift lock bolt within the transmission can seize. This issue prevents the transmission from being shifted out of gear range 7 through 12.
If the transmission cannot be shifted out of this gear range, the engine may stall. An engine stall in this context increases the risk of a crash. The recall began on February 28, 2018.
