Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2015-2017 Ford F-150 and 2017 F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks. The recall addresses a defect where the door latches may freeze after water enters the mechanism, or the actuation cables may become bent or kinked. These conditions can cause the doors to open while the vehicle is in motion, even if they appear to be closed.

A door that opens while driving can increase the risk of injury to the driver or passengers. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the door latch actuation cables and repair them if necessary. Dealers will also install water shields over the door latches to prevent freezing.
