Plain-English summary
Midwest Fire Equipment & Repair Company is recalling one 2017 All-Poly 3000 Series vehicle. The stop light switch on this vehicle may not illuminate the brake lights when the brakes are applied. This defect causes the vehicle to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
If the brake lights do not illuminate when the brakes are pressed, other drivers may not know that the vehicle is slowing or stopping, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.
Midwest will notify the owner, and a Peterbilt dealer will inspect and replace the affected brake light switch free of charge. The recall began on February 10, 2017. Owners may contact Peterbilt customer service at 1-940-591-4000 or Midwest customer service at 1-800-344-2059.
