What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product where injury has not yet been reported, specifically citing the potential for tire blowouts and crashes due to incorrect inflation data.
Plain-English summary
Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain 2017 Prime Time Avenger recreational vehicles. The Federal Placards on these vehicles may indicate an incorrect tire and rim combination, failing to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
The current placards indicate ST225/75R15E tires with 80 PSI and a rim designation of 15X6.0JJ. However, the correct specifications should be ST225/75R15D tires with 65 PSI and a rim designation of 15X5.0JJ. This incorrect information can cause tires to be over-inflated, possibly resulting in a tire blowout and increasing the risk of a crash.
Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will install a corrected Federal Placard free of charge. The recall began on March 17, 2017. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-862-1025 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
