The defect involves spring brake valves that may have been improperly machined. This issue can cause a delay in the application of the spring brakes while the vehicle is parked. If the spring brakes are delayed, the trailer may roll away after it has decoupled from the tractor, which increases the risk of a crash or injury.
East Manufacturing Corp. will contact owners to provide a remedy kit, complete with instructions, to repair any affected SR-5 trailer relay valves free of charge. The recall began on August 22, 2016.
