Oshkosh Corporation is recalling certain model year 2015 S-Series Front Discharge concrete mixer glider trucks manufactured between February 10, 2015, and March 20, 2015. The affected vehicles are equipped with Allison HD4500 transmissions that were remanufactured by Valley Truck Parts. A total of 24 vehicles are included in this recall.

The defect involves a thick layer of paint on the torque converter to adaptation kit mounting surface. This paint may soften during vehicle operation, which can result in the mounting bolts loosening. If the bolts loosen, the bolts on the torque converter bolt flange may shear, resulting in a sudden loss of drive power and increasing the risk of a crash.

Valley Truck Parts will remove the paint from the mating surface of the torque converter and replace the bolts free of charge. The recall began on May 8, 2015. Owners may contact Oshkosh customer service at 1-888-686-7278 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
