Entegra Coach is recalling 2015 Aspire vehicles because rear axle fasteners may lack thread locker or correct tightening, risking loss of control.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect in the rear axle assembly that can lead to loss of control and a crash, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.

Plain-English summary

Entegra Coach is recalling certain model year 2015 Aspire vehicles manufactured between October 24, 2013, and February 11, 2015. The recall addresses a defect in the power train axle assembly where the fasteners attaching the stay rod (v-rod) to the rear drive axle may not have been installed with thread locker or tightened in the correct sequence.

If these fasteners come loose, the stay rod may disconnect from the rear axle. This failure could result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall began on August 12, 2015.

Owners should contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-945-4787 or their dealer to have the fasteners replaced using thread lock and tightened in the proper sequence with required torque values at no charge. Owners may also contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov.
