Plain-English summary
Braun Corporation is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Braun-modified Chrysler and Dodge vehicles manufactured between December 19, 2012, and May 5, 2015. The recall involves 2,461 vehicles that have certification labels which may contain incorrect gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and front and rear gross axle weight rating (GAWR) information. As a result, these vehicles do not comply with the certification requirements of 49 CFR Part 567.
If an operator loads the vehicle based on the incorrect information provided on the certification label, they may overload the vehicle. Overloading can adversely affect the vehicle's handling and braking capabilities, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.
The recall began on August 6, 2015. Braun will notify owners, and dealers will install a corrected certification label free of charge. Owners may contact Braun customer service at 1-800-488-0359 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
