Plain-English summary
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. is recalling certain model year 2015 C300 4matic and C400 4matic vehicles manufactured between April 7, 2014, and July 25, 2014. The recall involves 3,039 vehicles where the fuel delivery module may be improperly secured to the fuel tank, or electrical wires connecting to the module may have been pinched between the module flange and the tank.
If the locking plate is not properly secured, it may become loose and leak fuel, which increases the risk of a fire. If the electrical wires are pinched, the fuel pump may stop working, causing the vehicle to stall and increasing the risk of a crash.
Owners will be notified by MBUSA. Dealers will inspect the vehicles for improperly secured locking plates and pinched wires, correcting them as necessary at no charge. The recall began on April 24, 2015. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
