KTM North America, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2015 Husqvarna FE 350 S and FE 501 S motorcycles. The affected vehicles were manufactured between July 23, 2014, and October 17, 2014. A total of 249 units are included in this recall.

The defect involves the front forks, where the threaded connection between the piston rod and the fork cap may not have been sufficiently tightened. This can cause the piston rod to become stuck within the fork leg. If the piston rod detaches, the front suspension could malfunction, destabilizing the motorcycle and increasing the risk of a crash.

KTM will notify owners, and Husqvarna motorcycle dealers will inspect the torque of the fork piston rod to the fork cap and correct it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on January 21, 2015. Owners may contact KTM customer service at 1-888-985-6090. KTM's number for this recall is TB 1503. This recall supersedes recall 14V-772 in its entirety.
