Ford Motor Company is recalling certain model year 2015 Lincoln MKC vehicles manufactured between August 20, 2013, and September 9, 2014. The recall addresses a defect in the Push-to Start/Stop (PTS) button located at the bottom of the shift transmission controls, which may be inadvertently pushed.
If the PTS switch is pressed accidentally, the engine may shut off, causing the vehicle to stop unexpectedly. This increases the risk of a crash. Additionally, in the event of a crash with the vehicle turned off, air bags and seat belt restraints may not function as intended, increasing the risk of injury.
