The recall was initially announced in January 2015 and expanded in April 2015 to include an additional 45,505 vehicles. The affected vehicles were manufactured between November 2013 and August 2014.

The recall is due to improper nickel plating of components within the fuel pump, which may result in the fuel pump failing. If the fuel pump fails, the vehicle may stall without warning, increasing the risk of a crash.
