Plain-English summary
Hale Products Inc. is recalling certain Quenching Agent Level Pressure Sensors and Class 1 ITL Level Displays manufactured between May 1, 2015, and July 31, 2015. The recall affects 1,289 units. When the vehicle is stationary, these sensors may provide an incorrect reading of the remaining firefighting agent, such as water or foam, in the tank.
If the tank unexpectedly runs out of agent due to an incorrect reading, it can increase the risk of injury to the firefighter. The manufacturer has not yet provided a specific notification schedule.
Hale will notify owners, and dealers will recalibrate the system or replace the pressure sensor free of charge. Owners may contact Hale customer service at 1-800-533-3569 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
