Wilson Trailer Company is recalling 2014-2015 Grain and Livestock trailers due to a defect in pivot bolts that could cause the suspension to separate.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect where suspension failure could cause the axle to separate, increasing the risk of a crash, which aligns with the 'Severe' criteria for structural defects.

Plain-English summary

Wilson Trailer Company is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Grain and Livestock trailers manufactured between September 20, 2013, and July 18, 2014. The recall affects trailers equipped with specific Pivot Bolts (Part Number 93201070).

The affected pivot bolts may experience an intergranular quench crack where the bolt head meets the body of the bolt. Failure of these bolts may cause the suspension and attached axle to separate from the trailer, increasing the risk of a crash.

Wilson will notify owners, and dealers or authorized repair facilities will replace the pivot bolts free of charge. The recall began in September 2014. Owners may contact Wilson customer service at 1-800-798-2002 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
