Vanco Recalls 2015 Semi-Trailers Due to Suspension Pivot Bolt Failure Risk

Vanco is recalling certain 2015 semi-trailers because suspension pivot bolts may fail, potentially causing the axle to separate and increasing crash risk.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect where suspension components may fail, leading to axle separation and an increased risk of a crash, which aligns with the 'Severe' criteria for structural defects and significant injury risk.

Plain-English summary

Vanco USA, LLC is recalling certain model year 2015 Semi-Trailers, model 2WIL2A530SAR114/116, manufactured in April 2014. These vehicles are equipped with certain SAF-Holland-brand CBX Trailer Suspension Air Ride Axle Systems. The affected trailer suspensions have pivot bolts that may fail.

Failure of the pivot bolts may cause the suspension and attached axle to separate from the trailer, increasing the risk of a crash. Vanco will notify owners, and SAF-Holland-approved repair shops will replace the defective pivot bolts with new pivot bolts, free of charge. The recall began in August 2014.

Owners may contact Vanco customer service at 1-609-499-4141 or SAF-Holland at 1-888-396-6501. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
