R&M Trailer Manufacturing, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 6x12 and 7x16 enclosed cargo trailers manufactured between February 2012 and August 2013. The recall affects 185 units equipped with Fastec-brand door locks.
The defect involves the possibility of removing the key from the lock in a way that jams the deadbolt. If the deadbolt jams, the interior side of the door lock may also jam, potentially locking a person inside the trailer and preventing them from exiting, which increases the risk of injury.
R&M Trailer will notify owners, and Fastec will coordinate the inspection and replacement of the cylinders, as needed, free of charge. The recall was expected to begin by mid-April 2014. Owners may contact R&M Trailer at 1-402-415-7530 or Fastec at 1-800-837-2505.
