Cottrell, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2005-2012 auto transporter vehicles equipped with Sure Power-brand battery equalizers. The recall involves 779 units. The specific epoxy sealing, or 'potting', compound used in these products for insulation was found to be capable of conducting electricity after being exposed to heat.
Once the material becomes electrically conductive, it is capable of melting and burning, which increases the risk of a fire. The affected vehicles include various models such as the CX-09LS3, CX-09HCS, CX-09LS2, and C-11LT.
