Cornelius Manufacturing, Inc. is recalling certain 2012-2014 model year Corn Pro Deckover Flatbed Trailers manufactured between February 2012 and November 2013. The recall affects trailers equipped with a ten-foot hydraulic dovetail. In the affected trailers, the welded boxes that allow the tail to pivot may fail. If these boxes fail, only the hydraulic cylinders would remain to keep the tail from separating from the main part of the trailer. Should the cylinders also fail, the tail could detach, increasing the risk of an accident.
Cornelius will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the boxes and re-weld them if necessary, free of charge. The recall began on March 20, 2014. Customers may contact Cornelius at 1-812-636-4319.
