Pleasant Valley Travel Trailer Recall for Door Lock Jamming Hazard

Pleasant Valley is recalling 2006-2013 travel trailers because a door lock defect may jam the deadbolt, potentially trapping occupants inside the vehicle.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product where injury has not yet been reported, fitting the High severity criteria for potential entrapment and injury.

Plain-English summary

Pleasant Valley Teardrop Trailers LLC is recalling certain model year 2006-2013 travel trailers manufactured between January 1, 2006, and April 25, 2013. These vehicles are equipped with a Fastec-brand door lock that may allow the key to be removed in a way that jams the deadbolt.

If the deadbolt jams, the interior side of the door lock may also jam. This could lock a person inside the travel trailer, preventing them from exiting without using the emergency exit, which increases the risk of injury.

Pleasant Valley will notify owners, and Fastec will coordinate the inspection and replacement of the cylinders, as needed, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Pleasant Valley at 1-330-852-4811 or Fastec at 1-800-837-2505.
