Subaru of America, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2013 Outback and Legacy vehicles manufactured between February 15, 2012, and June 15, 2012. The recall involves a defect in the steering column assembly where the inner and outer shafts may become disengaged from one another.
If the shafts disengage, the driver would lose the ability to steer the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash. The recall campaign number is WQI-45, and the recall began on May 14, 2013.
