Subaru Forester alloy wheels may be improperly attached losing stability

Subaru is recalling certain 2025 Forester vehicles with 18-inch aluminium alloy wheels because an incorrectly specified lug seat surface can leave the wheel improperly attached.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 4 covers structural vehicle defects: a wheel that is not properly seated on its lugs is a structural attachment failure, and the source states it causes a loss of vehicle stability.

Plain-English summary

Subaru of America, Inc. is recalling certain 2025 Forester vehicles equipped with 18" aluminium alloy wheels. About 20,366 units are potentially affected.

The wheels may have been manufactured with an incorrectly specified lug seat surface, which can result in the wheel being improperly attached and cause a loss of vehicle stability.
