The defect involves the drag link collar position and the torque of the collar retaining bolt, which may create contact with the pitman arm under certain conditions.

This contact may cause the turnbuckle to fracture without warning. If the drag link turnbuckle breaks while the vehicle is in use, stability and vehicle control may be lost, increasing the risk of a crash.
