Cequent Performance Products, Inc. is recalling certain Tekonsha Electric Trailer Brake Control Wiring Adapters with Part No. 30232-P and 30231-P. These adapters are used as aftermarket equipment on model year 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 vehicles.
The defect occurs when the brakes are applied while the turn signal is activated, which may cause the turn signal to turn off and the opposite trailer turn signal to activate. This incorrect signaling fails to properly notify other drivers of the driver's intent, such as the direction of a turn or lane change, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.
