Subaru Recalls 2012 Impreza, Legacy, Outback for Brake Master Cylinder Defect

Subaru of America, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2012 Impreza sedans and wagons (excluding WRX/STI models) manufactured between April 21, 2011, and November 15, 2011, as well as Legacy and Outback vehicles manufactured between October 17, 2011, and November 23, 2011. The recall involves approximately 32,685 vehicles.
The affected vehicles may be equipped with a brake master cylinder that could malfunction. This defect could cause an increase in the amount of brake pedal travel distance required to slow or stop the vehicle. The driver might misjudge the pedal travel needed to achieve the desired stopping distance. This condition could occur unexpectedly and without prior warning, increasing the risk of a crash.
