Eldorado Buses Recalled for Air Conditioner Fuse Fire Risk

Eldorado National is recalling certain model year 2007-2011 Aerotech, Aerolite, Aero Elite, and Transtech buses. These vehicles were manufactured between January 2006 and March 2011 and are equipped with Carrier GenV EM-1 evaporator units. The recall involves 4,333 vehicles.
The defect involves the air conditioner fuse, which may loosen in the fuse holder due to time, temperature, and/or vibration. This loosening can result in high resistance and arcing. If sufficient arcing occurs, the fuse holder may melt, potentially leading to a vehicle fire.
Carrier will notify owners and provide information on how to obtain a retrofit kit and repair instructions. This service will be performed free of charge under Carrier's recall campaign 11E-003.
