Thomas Built Minotour Buses Recalled for Incorrect Tire Load Certification Labels

Daimler Trucks North America is recalling certain model year 2000 and 2002 Thomas Built Minotour non-school buses built on Ford chassis. These vehicles were manufactured between April 17, 2000, and November 28, 2001. The recall addresses an incorrect tire load certification label installed on the buses.
The incorrect labels list "D" load range tires with a recommended cold tire inflation pressure greater than 65 PSI. However, the buses are actually equipped with load range "E" tires that require a higher minimum tire pressure. Consequently, these buses fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Incorrect tire information may lead to vehicle overloading, which can result in tire failure and a vehicle crash. Daimler Trucks North America will notify owners, and dealers will replace the incorrect label with a correct one free of charge. Owners may also replace the label themselves by contacting Daimler Trucks North America or Thomas Built to obtain the correct label. The safety recall began on May 24, 2011.
