Plain-English summary
Roadtrek Motorhomes Inc. is recalling certain model year 2008 through 2010 Roadtrek 17PC, 17VC, 19PC, 19VC, 21PC, and 21VC Class B motorhomes built on GM Express van chassis. The recall covers vehicles manufactured between January 1, 2008, and January 1, 2010.
The defect involves the lumbar support wire harness located between the switch and the lumbar motor in the front seats. On some vehicles, the insulation on this 12V wire harness may not be rated against the risk of fire as required by specification. If a short occurs in the wire harness, the insulation could melt or burn, creating a source of ignition that could result in a fire.
Roadtrek will notify owners, and dealers will replace the wire harness in both the driver-side and passenger-side front seats as required, free of charge. The safety recall began on August 3, 2010. Owners may contact the Roadtrek Service Department at 1-888-ROADTREK (762-3873) or 1-519-745-1169 for more information.
