Plain-English summary
Spacelabs Healthcare is recalling the Xhibit Telemetry Receiver Model 96280, a patient monitoring device, due to a software defect affecting alarm escalation. The defect occurs after approximately 25 days of continuous use.
When the device operates for approximately 25 days continuously, it fails to escalate certain technical alarms as specified: signal loss, all leads off, low battery, SpO2 sensor off, and signal interference. Because alarm escalation does not occur, caregivers may not respond to the initial technical alarm and may not be aware of the continuing technical failure in the device's patient monitoring function.
